Investors & strategic partners

A category-defining instrument, in one company’s hands what an acquirer or partner would be looking at

HANS Korea created the nickel-titanium brush for peri-implantitis in 2010, filed its first patent in 2011, and has manufactured it without interruption since. Fifteen years on, the NiTi Brush is the instrument that independent research groups use as the mechanical baseline when they test newer decontamination technologies — and it is still made by the company that designed it.

  • Named by the manufacturer in peer-reviewed work — “a titanium brush‡ (Hans Korea Co., Ltd.)”, “NANO NiTi Brush, HANS KOREA CO., Ltd” — including multicentre randomised trials in Sweden, Spain and Italy. See the published evidence.
  • Regulatory depth — CE Class IIa (MDD, valid to 31 December 2028 under Regulation (EU) 2023/607), MDR application filed with the on-site audit completed in June 2026, FDA establishment registration and device listing, MHLW registration in Japan. See the MDR timeline.
  • Manufacturing in-house — production relocated in 2024 to a facility built for MDR-conformant manufacture; tooling, process and quality system owned by the company.
  • An established channel — authorised distributors across Europe, Asia and the Americas, with the regulatory pack and training programme already in use.
  • A growing indication — the population of implants old enough to develop peri-implantitis increases every year; see the clinical problem.

Note on “titanium brush”

‡ Titanium brush (Ti brush) is used on this site as a generic, descriptive term, as in the literature; it is not a product name. Investigators have described the NiTi Brush by HANS Korea in this way, for example “a rotating titanium brush (Nano NiTi Brush, HANS KOREA CO. Ltd)” in randomised trials (Derks et al. 2022; Regidor et al. 2023; Alibegovic et al. 2025; Regidor et al. 2026) and “a titanium brush (Hans Korea Co., Ltd.)” in clinical studies (Galarraga-Vinueza et al. 2020; Schwarz et al. 2023; Zhou et al. 2026; Dionigi et al. 2025; Babgi & Felemban 2024); a laboratory study abbreviates it “TiB” (Ichioka et al. 2023). Another laboratory study calls it a “Ti brush” (“NiTi Brush Omega, Hans Korea”; Kao et al. 2024). The bristles are a nickel-titanium (NiTi) alloy, not pure titanium; for patients who report a reaction to titanium or nickel, see the IFU.
